Effacé

In ballet, effacé means “shaded”: the body turns so that part of it is hidden.

These three figures are half-hidden in the same way. They turn away from one another and from us, each absorbed in a private movement. Some are built from color, others from little more than a drawn line.

You are standing close enough to touch them. None of them has noticed you.
